• Account data — name, email address, and password hash when you register (or profile info from Google sign-in).
• Content you submit — place and event listings, photos, reviews, trip itineraries, and shared plans.
• Usage data — pages visited, device/browser type, and approximate location if you allow browser geolocation for travel planning.
• Cookies & sessions — authentication cookies to keep you signed in.

How we use your information

• Provide and improve the service (Explore, city pages, trip planner).
• Moderate user-submitted places, events, and reviews before public display.
• Send transactional emails (verification, approval/rejection) when email is configured.
• Protect against abuse and maintain security.

Public content

Approved place and event listings, reviews, and contributor display names may appear publicly on the site and in search engines. Do not submit personal information you do not want published. Place photos you upload may be visible to all visitors once approved.

Third-party services

We use hosting and infrastructure providers (e.g. Vercel), a database (Supabase/PostgreSQL), image storage, maps/geocoding APIs, and optional analytics. Google OAuth is available for sign-in. Each provider has its own privacy policy governing their processing.

Data retention & deletion

You may delete your account from customer settings. You can choose whether your submitted places remain on the site or are deleted with your account. Rejected or removed content may be retained in backups for a limited period.

Your choices

• Update or delete your account from the dashboard settings.
• Decline browser location permission — trip planning still works from city centre.
• Contact us to request access or correction of personal data.

Children

The service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
